Prevention of noise-induced hearing loss by rational appointment algorithm in periodontal, restorative and prosthetic treatments: A method study

Dentists are at risk of noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL). Dental treatment equipment has high-intensity noise levels. Occupational levels multi-unit dental clinic higher than private and further increased NIHL. This study aims to develop a noise-reducing appointment system in clinics using duration steps noisemap. Restorative, periodontal, prosthetic procedure were measured clinic. A map was created by measuring the amount time interval silent period. The algorithm according this map. Control 7 test simulation algorithms tested. control group simulated six units simultaneously with conventional hour-based algorithm. Test groups based on Six-unit under dBmap system. While 2 6 producing steps, other 4 seats planned operate without noise. According noisemap, operated two-unit different timings. distribution (T1-T7). mean measurements all tested significantly lower group. Periodontal occupational level (68 dB) restorative (61 (59 dB). room measurement 68,54 dB, between 57,19 –63,98 dB. difference different(p=0,0009). reduced reduction-based method. Further studies needed procedures validation clinical settings.
